But before you become an adult and have to calculate these values, you should know how to calculate interest. We have designed a game called “Simple Interest Game” for this purpose. This game is specially developed for 3rd graders like you so you can understand the concept, score excellent marks in your exams, and calculate interest when you are required to.
How to play this game.
This game features a balloon popping theme. You will have to pop the balloon containing the right answer to proceed in this game. Here is an example of a question from this game: “What is the amount that is increased to $500 after 9 years of interest rate of 3% per year?” Firstly, convert the interest rate from percentage to decimal (0.03).
Then multiply it with the number of years (9) and add it to 1. You will get 1.27. Now divide the total amount with this number (500/1.27) and you will get 393.7. Round it off to the nearest whole number and look for that number in the options. Choose 394 to score a point and progress forward.
