This quiz requires the third grader to have a resounding knowledge of decimals and how they are subtracted or added. Several decimals are given in this quiz and the child would be tested by subtracting lesser decimals from greater decimals. A range of decimals would be given for instance, deduct 213.43 from 279.766 or minus 222.222 from 333.999 and so on. This would need the child to apply preexisting knowledge of how to subtract lesser decimals from greater decimals which could be tricky. The quiz in this category could be given in the classroom context where immediate feedback would be received or also in the home setting where a tutor would be present.
